Gold Mine

I have a gold mine in my back yard. Many years before I bought my house these blueberry bushes were planted. We have harvested many blueberries over the past 11 years.

They are totally organic, we do nothing to them except try to weed out the bushes and trees.

Almost a gallon in less than an hour, 2 or 3 bushes

Spread them out to dry and pop them in a freezer bag and freeze for a delicious frozen treat for my grandchildren.  Or maybe I will make a blueberry crunch (see the recipe on the recipe tab)

New recipe?

Okay, so I've been gone a while....but it is just so hard to stay inside on the computer when we are having such beautiful weather. I am more of an outside person than inside, but I know that is no excuse for staying away so long. I'll try not to let it happen again.

Okay, so new recipe might not be the correct heading for this post, but that was all I could think to call it. It was actually a recipe for a week killer that I had been seeing on Pinterest, and decided to give it a try. I was very skeptical, but considering I already had most of the ingredients...well I just gave it a try. Guess what? It worked! I was amazed.....grass and weeds that were growing and green in the morning were dead and brown by the afternoon, and one of the best parts is it was not toxic to our animals, and was a heck of a lot cheaper than the weed killers you buy in the stores. Woo hoo! So now I will continue to use it wherever I need the weeds dead.

1 Gal white vinegar
2 C of epsom salt
1/4 C Dawn dishwashing liquid

I mixed it all right in my sprayer and went to work. The vinegar smell is kind of strong for a little while, but eventually it dissipates. So, until next time....Coming soon - Pictures!
